In 1994 four friends started to play music for fun. In 1998 their band Fence became 2e on the Humo’s Rock Rally (Das Pop ended first). In the beginning of 1999 the group made their EP debut “Singapore Airlines”, which was released by the Belgian indie-label Labelman. The reactions were positive, and the debut CD “The Return of Geronimo”, recorded with the Dutch producer Frans Hagenaars followed.
In 2002 the first drummer of the band was replaced by a new one, and and their second album “Angels on your Body” was released. In 2005 “The Woolf”, their 3rd full length album was released by Fons/Rocky Records/Excelsior.
Fence scored several hits in the Belgian alternative rock scene, and they played many concerts in Belgium and The Netherlands (including Pukkelpop, Marktrock and Maanrock). Many new successful Belgian bands (such as The Galacticos, Roadburg, Bed Rugs and Team William) have said they are infulenced by Fence.
